Volunteer to be a Reach Steward

Reach Stewards monitor, report, maintain and advocate. See the Reach Steward Job Description for a complete description.

All volunteers must be at least 21 years old and must commit to serving one season. See the Reach Steward job description for complete requirements.

In those counties where there is a TrailKeeper "Local Partner" there may be additional requirements to become a TrailKeeper volunteer for the Local Partner in that county.

To volunteer to be an Openlands TrailKeeper Reach Steward

  1. First read the job description throughly
  2. Then chose the reach you would like to adopt from the list of reaches.
  3. Then fill out the Reach Steward application form below and click "Submit".

To volunteer to work on an Illinois Paddling Council In-Stream Maintenance Crew click In-Stream Crew Volunteer

To volunteer to help out on a specific reach or watertrail without taking on the responsibilies of a Steward click here to be a Trail Volunteer
